Hi all and happy Friday! So I shared a few months ago about how to create an office and make it apart of your home. You can find that post here! Since then I have come to the conclusion that it makes so much more sense to convert our guest room into a home office/guest room. My parents live in Arizona so they come to visit a few times a year, we have some friends that live out of town as well that also come every once in awhile but we don’t have a revolving door of guests so I thought it is wiser to combine the two! This space now is so much more functional and looks like it belongs in our home! My desk before was put into a spare room and just looked like a cute after thought. haha. Now everything flows and looks like it is supposed to be here! I am in love and I hope this gives you ideas for your home!
This desk is all made from Ikea and was the easiest thing to put together! I feel like the pictures don’t do this Ikea DIY desk justice. I am not one to purchase a lot of things from ikea but these desk pieces have come together so nicely and are WAY better than expected. The butcher block is so so pretty and high quality. The desk drawers are a great color, the perfect height and add some sophistication to our office. It looks so much more inviting having one long desk than two separate desks that don’t even come close to matching. Our desk chairs are form our old office set up, we love them so much that I couldn’t get rid of them for the sake of matching chairs. haha.

Materials:
- Ikea filing cabinets x3 – we chose gray, they come in white and black as well!
- Ikea butcher block
Instructions:
- assebmle filing cabinets
- lay butcher block on top
Voila! It’s really as easy and simple as that! We went for the longest desk we could make because both my husband and I sit here but if you are looking to build a smaller desk, you may only need two cabinets and shorter butcher block.
